About

A small, independent laboratory for systems that cross conventional boundaries.

Used rural workshop with soldering, measurement and fabrication tools
LAB / PLACEA small practice where computation meets materials and place.

deAI Labs designs, prototypes and develops systems at the intersection of software and the physical world.

Projects may range from experimental research to commissioned systems. The scale can change; the method remains precise: understand the whole environment, make interfaces explicit, test under real constraints and leave the result maintainable.

We do not begin with a preferred technology. We begin with the behaviour the complete system must sustain.

PRINCIPLES

A system is judged by how it behaves when conditions stop being ideal.

P/01

LOCAL FIRST

Systems should remain useful when remote infrastructure disappears.

P/02

INTEROPERABLE

Prefer standards and interoperable systems over closed ecosystems.

P/03

DECENTRALISABLE

Avoid unnecessary single points of control.

P/04

PHYSICAL

Software matters most when it changes something beyond the screen.

P/05

OPEN WHEN POSSIBLE

Knowledge can become infrastructure.

P/06

SYSTEMS OVER TOOLS

The problem determines the technology, not the reverse.
